South African media personality Nadia Nakai has declared that she will never date a rapper or anyone in the entertainment industry again, following the tragic death of her partner, rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
In a recent interview with Fresh Men Magazine, the TV host said she now values privacy in her relationships and does not want her personal life to be subjected to public scrutiny.
“I will not date another rapper or anybody in the [entertainment] industry ever again. I never want to do that again. I want to have a very private relationship,” she said.
Nakai explained that coping with the death of AKA in the public eye was an overwhelming experience she does not wish to repeat.
“If he had to die, that experience was terrible for me. I didn’t like having to explain my pain to strangers at the airport. I don’t want to explain nonsense to people on social media. So, I will never date a rapper or anybody in the public eye,” she vowed.
AKA was shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban on February 10, 2023, a murder that shocked the South African music industry. Investigations and trial proceedings into his killing remain ongoing.
Nakai’s candid remarks have sparked conversations online, with fans expressing both sympathy for her loss and support for her decision to keep future relationships away from public attention.
