Nigerian actor, comedian, and activist Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has publicly denied a rape allegation leveled against him on social media.
The claim originated from an X user, @Lukurawa16703, who accused the entertainer of sexually assaulting a minor and allegedly using the Nigerian police to intimidate the victim’s family. The tweet appeared in response to Mr Macaroni’s criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration over rising insecurity.
Reacting to the allegation, Mr Macaroni described the accusation as “horrendous and distasteful.” He claimed the accuser is a supporter of the ruling APC and dismissed the claims as politically motivated propaganda aimed at undermining his activism.
He further warned that he would pursue legal action against the individual behind the account to serve as a deterrent to others. Mr Macaroni also appealed to the public for any information that could help him take action against the alleged perpetrator of the false claims.
“This tweet also serves as an opportunity to strongly refute this ridiculous accusation and any other kind from the infested supporters of the APC,” he said, adding that he would continue to hold the government accountable despite such attacks.
