
Morocco and Tunisia have become the first African nations to book their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the CAF qualifying campaign nears its conclusion.
The qualifiers, which kicked off on November 15, 2023, will wrap up in November 2025, with nine countries guaranteed automatic qualification and one more advancing to the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.
With just two rounds of matches left, Egypt (Group A, 20 points), Senegal (Group B, 18 points), Benin Republic (Group C, 14 points), Cape Verde (Group D, 19 points), Cote d’Ivoire (Group F, 20 points), Algeria (Group G, 19 points) and Ghana (Group I, 19 points) are all in strong positions to secure their tickets to the global showpiece.
