Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi remains upbeat about Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite the team’s challenging position in Group C.
Nigeria currently sit third in the standings with 11 points, trailing Benin Republic and South Africa, who are level on 14 points each. To reach the global showpiece, the three-time African champions must win their remaining two matches and hope their rivals drop points.
Moffi, returning to the squad after a lengthy injury layoff, believes the task is still within reach.
“We are really confident about qualifying for the World Cup,” Moffi told the Super Eagles media.
“We have to do our part and wait for the result of the other team. So, we’re really confident things will go our way.”
Head coach Eric Chelle will be banking on Moffi’s firepower as the Super Eagles prepare for their final fixtures against Lesotho and Benin Republic.
With qualification hanging in the balance, Nigeria’s campaign now rests on a mix of strong performances — and a little help from elsewhere in the group.
