Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, is receiving medical care in Thailand after she slipped and fell off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown event on Wednesday.
Henry, who was participating in the gown parade in a flowing orange dress, lost her footing as she made her way across the stage. A video shared widely online shows the moment she tumbled from the edge, prompting an immediate response from pageant officials.
Additional footage from the venue captures emergency personnel placing the contestant on a stretcher and moving her out of the hall for urgent assessment.
The Miss Universe Organisation later confirmed the incident, stating that Henry is being treated at Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Bangkok. According to the organisation’s president, Raúl Rocha Cantú, who visited her at the medical facility, she suffered minor injuries and will remain under observation overnight.
“All necessary care is being provided,” Cantú said, assuring supporters that the Jamaican representative is stable.
Further updates are expected as the pageant continues in Thailand.
