Nollywood star Mercy Johnson has spoken out against the alleged arrest and detention of Sammy West, the elder brother of actress Regina Daniels, by her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
According to reports, West was arrested in Lagos on Sunday over his alleged involvement in the ongoing marital crisis between his sister and the Delta North senator.
His arrest reportedly came a week after Regina Daniels accused Nwoko of domestic violence and filed for divorce.
Reacting via her Instagram page, Mercy Johnson, who is regarded as Regina’s godmother, expressed outrage over the reported detention, condemning what she described as a miscarriage of justice.
“The worst form of injustice is pretended justice,” she wrote.
“A child was arrested, and no one has been allowed to see him for two days. He was flown from Lagos to Abuja and is allegedly being taken to court from the airport. How did we get here? Nigeria… wow.”
The actress’s post has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with fans and celebrities demanding transparency and due process in the case.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding Sammy West’s alleged arrest or the circumstances surrounding it.
