Reality TV star and entrepreneur Mercy Eke has described her Big Brother Naija Season 4 victory as a defining moment for young women across Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking in a recent interview with BellaNaija, the 2019 BBNaija champion said her historic win not only boosted her personal confidence but also inspired countless women who had been told their dreams were out of reach.
“I came into the show prepared. I was ready. And when I won the show, I did it for all the young women who have been told that they can’t. I did it for all of us,” she said.
Mercy, who made history as the first female winner of the reality TV show, said she saw the competition as an opportunity to challenge stereotypes and redefine what women could achieve in entertainment and beyond.
Her victory, she added, served as a springboard for other women who later followed in her footsteps, including Phyna (2022), Ilebaye (2023), and Imisi (2025), the most recent BBNaija champion.
Mercy attributed her success to confidence, preparation, and self-belief, noting that her journey continues to be a source of motivation for young women determined to rise above limitations.
