Media representatives have been invited to attend the Innovation for Healthcare Access Conference on Oct. 27–28 at Rice University’s BioScience Research Collaborative (BRC), where global and local leaders will convene to explore bold, technology-driven solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in maternal, newborn, and chronic disease care.
Hosted by the Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies, a leader in health technology research, implementation, and education at Rice University, the event will bring together researchers from Rice and the Texas Medical Center, nonprofit organizations, health care providers, and state and national policymakers to foster collaboration and advance access to quality health care in underserved communities.
The conference will feature a dynamic lineup of global health leaders and stakeholder representatives who will share insights, innovations, and strategies for moving health care solutions from concept to real-world implementation, particularly in resource-constrained settings.
Core priorities include:
-
Highlighting efforts to design and develop innovations that meet unmet health care needs in underserved communities.
-
Showcasing global case studies of successful technology-based health solutions.
-
Exploring pathways to implement global innovations in Texas and across the U.S.
-
Building collaborations to address maternal, newborn, and chronic disease care challenges.
In addition to plenary sessions, the conference features an open call for abstracts and an innovator marketplace, where researchers will showcase emerging technologies and device innovations aligned with maternal and newborn health and chronic disease care.
