Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe is the early frontrunner in the Champions League scoring charts after netting five goals in the opening two rounds of fixtures.
The France captain struck a hat-trick in Madrid’s 5-0 win over debutants Kairat Almaty on Tuesday, adding to the brace he scored in September’s 2-1 victory over Marseille.
Mbappe sits one goal ahead of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, who has four to his name after scoring twice against Pafos this week.
Other players chasing the top scorer include Frankfurt’s Jonathan Burkardt, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon, and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who have all found the net three times each.
