MAX, Africa’s leading mobility company, has officially handed over full vehicle ownership to more than 150 commercial riders, known as “Champions,” across seven Nigerian cities.
The announcement was made in a press statement released on 4th September 2025, highlighting the company’s continuous drive to empower riders through its innovative financing model.
According to the statement, the graduations took place in Akure, Ilorin, Osogbo, Sagamu, Sango Ota, Ado-Ekiti, Abeokuta, and Ibadan, where riders who successfully completed their payment plans under MAX’s financing scheme were given the original papers for their motorcycles and tricycles, officially becoming owners.
The ceremonies were marked by heartfelt celebrations as riders shared emotional testimonies of how MAX transformed their lives. One of the graduates, Elebechi Joseph, said: “Before MAX, I struggled every day just to survive. Most of my profit went back to the bike owner, and I could barely feed my family. Now, I have peace. My children can eat well, and I don’t borrow money every time! MAX has changed my life forever.”
For others, MAX has paved the way for entrepreneurship. Ms Idoko Ladi, another Champion, said: “After school I was waiting for a job but I did not find job anywhere. That is when my father told me about MAX. Now I am not looking for work again! I have two Keke through MAX and I have people working for me. Thank you MAX!”
The statement also highlighted the MAX Advantage package, which provides riders with a comprehensive bundle including health insurance, licensing, registration, maintenance, and emergency support, enabling them to operate their businesses with ease and peace of mind.
Since its inception, MAX has empowered over 55,000 Champions through its collateral-free vehicle financing model, which allows riders to own motorcycles and tricycles by paying in small instalments.
Commenting on the initiative, Olumayowa Olusa, Assistant General Manager of Driver Experience at MAX, said: “Every Champion we graduate represents more than ownership of a motorcycle or tricycle, it represents dignity, independence, and hope. Through MAX Advantage and our financing model, we are not just putting vehicles on the road, we are building lives, families, and communities. This is the true impact of MAX.”
Looking ahead, the statement noted that MAX is championing a transition to electric mobility, enabling riders to save up to ₦85,000 monthly while avoiding rising fuel costs and reducing maintenance expenses.
With an expanding fleet of electric motorcycles and a growing battery-swapping infrastructure, the company is driving Africa’s shift towards clean, affordable, and sustainable transportation.
As MAX celebrates its second decade of impact, the company reaffirmed in the statement its commitment to empowering riders, fostering financial inclusion, and redefining mobility across Africa.
