Veteran Nollywood actress Morenike Alausa Sulaimon, popularly known as Mama Ereko, has revealed the extraordinary lengths Fuji star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma went to in order to honour his commitment to her film project.
In a recent interview, the actress recalled being on set when she discovered that Pasuma, who had been scheduled to appear in 22 scenes, was outside the country at the time of shooting. Despite this, she said the musician made an unexpected return to Nigeria solely to keep his promise.
According to Mama Ereko, Pasuma was in Germany when production began but quietly arranged his travel so those around him would not know he was leaving. She narrated that he even purchased new clothes at the airport to avoid drawing attention to his sudden trip.
“He came all the way from Germany just to play his role in my movie,” she said. “He didn’t want anyone to notice he was travelling, so he left his things in his house there and bought new clothes at the airport.”
The actress added that Pasuma went straight from the airport to the film set, completed all his scenes, and immediately boarded a flight back to Germany afterward.
“That day remains unforgettable for me,” she said, adding playfully that she still owes him ₦10,000 , a debt she says he no longer remembers.
