Wikki Tourists head coach Abdullahi Maikaba has admitted that his side’s narrow win over Abia Warriors was a difficult contest.
The Bauchi Elephants secured a 1-0 victory at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium on Sunday to extend their unbeaten run to three matches in the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
“It was a big test for us. Abia Warriors are a continental team with experience and structure. I didn’t expect it to be easy, but my boys were disciplined and showed real character. They earned this win,” Maikaba said.
The victory lifts Wikki Tourists to second place on the NPFL table with seven points.
