Nigeria international Maduka Okoye has shared his thoughts following Udinese’s 3–1 defeat to Juventus in their Serie A clash at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.
After a tightly contested first half that ended 1–1 — with Nicolo Zaniolo cancelling out Dušan Vlahović’s early penalty — Juventus regained control in the second half. Federico Gatti restored the hosts’ lead in the 67th minute before Kenan Yildiz sealed victory from the spot.
Despite the loss, Okoye impressed with a string of crucial saves that kept the scoreline respectable.
Speaking to Udinese’s official website, the Super Eagles goalkeeper praised his teammates’ collective effort and highlighted the team’s steady improvement under manager Kosta Runjaic.
“We’re not happy but we know we played a good game. We’ll take the positives and move on to the next one,” Okoye said.
Okoye recently returned to action after serving a two-month suspension over a betting-related incident that kept him out for about eight matches.
