NTV spoke to two men: a Kenyan who is currently serving on the Russian front line in the war against Ukraine, and another who managed to escape and return home.
Kenya’s foreign ministry, caught in the middle, is now racing to rescue more citizens as the Russian government denies knowledge or participation in the operation.
