Nigerian content creator and UK-based influencer Bemi Orojogun, popularly known as London Bus Aunty, has been nominated for the Video of the Year category at the TikTok UK Awards 2025.
Orojogun, whose videos have become a viral sensation for their simplicity and charm, was shortlisted alongside creators such as Friends of Elmtree, Sam Morris, Gardiner Brothers, Joseph Machines, and Brad Ben. The award recognises outstanding video creators making remarkable impact on the platform.
In a video posted to her TikTok page on Saturday, Orojogun expressed excitement and gratitude over the nomination.
“Guess where I am? At the TikTok Awards! I’ve been nominated for Best Video of the Year 2025. I can’t believe I’m here, thank you all so much for getting me here,” she said, visibly emotional.
Known for her calm, wordless clips of London’s red double-decker buses, Orojogun has built a loyal community of over 200,000 TikTok followers and 20,000 Instagram fans. Her videos, often featuring her smiling serenely as buses glide past, have earned her a reputation as one of the UK’s most distinctive creators.
Beyond viral fame, Orojogun has leveraged her unique style into brand collaborations and advocacy work. She notably partnered with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on the city’s 2,000 zero-emission buses project, showcasing her influence beyond entertainment.
Her journey began in 2024 when a cleverly shot forced-perspective video, making a bus appear unusually close to her, catapulted her to global recognition. While some viewers raised safety concerns, she later clarified that all her videos are filmed safely from pavements.
Fans have since nicknamed her “London Bus Aunty,” with many Nigerians humorously challenging her to bring her famous act to bustling Lagos spots like Oshodi or CMS.
With her latest TikTok UK Awards nomination, Orojogun joins a growing list of Nigerian creators breaking global boundaries, proving that creativity, no matter how simple, can travel far.
