Nollywood actress Liz DaSilva has recounted a near-fatal experience during a routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan, revealing that she almost entered the machine with metal pins hidden in her wig.
Sharing the incident in an Instagram video, DaSilva explained that although she removed her jewelry and other metallic accessories before the procedure, she forgot about the pins. MRI machines use powerful magnets, and the presence of metal can cause serious injury or disrupt the imaging process.
“I was almost ready to go in before I remembered the pins in my wig,” she said. “I quickly told the attendant, and she admitted she was just about to ask me.”
The actress admitted she had been nervous about the scan from the start, openly telling medical staff about her fears. After realizing what could have happened, she broke down in tears and expressed gratitude to God for sparing her life.
Speaking partly in Yoruba, she said: “Truly, God saved me. What would have happened if I had gone in with the pins? Maybe I would have died.”
DaSilva urged her fans and social media followers to take extra precautions during medical procedures, stressing the importance of paying attention to small details that could make the difference between life and death.
