Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi, has expressed his desire to return to Barcelona when the redeveloped Nou Camp Stadium is completed.
Messi, who left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in August 2021 before joining Inter Miami, recently visited the Catalan club and shared a picture of himself inside the stadium.
“Last night I returned to a place I miss with my soul,” Messi wrote.
Speaking to Diario Sport, the Argentine forward revealed he is keen to return to Camp Nou in the near future. “I really want to go back to Barça stadium when it’s finished because since I left for Paris I didn’t go back to Camp Nou either, and then they went to Montjuïc. It’s going to be special, I’m sure,” he said.
Messi also highlighted his family’s connection to the city, adding, “I really want to go back, because we miss Barcelona a lot. The children continuously, and my wife, I talk about things about Barcelona, the idea of living there again. We have our house, everything, so that’s what we want.”
