Leo Edochie has publicly dismissed viral claims alleging that his father, veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie, has died.
The rumors began circulating on social media platform X, triggering concern among fans and prompting a wave of calls and messages to the family.
Responding via Instagram, Leo firmly denied the reports, describing them as false and malicious. He stated that the 78-year-old screen icon remains alive, healthy, and strong.
“I have been receiving calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages, over some nonsense that people posted, that my father, Pete Edochie, is dead. It’s a lie from the pit of hell,” he said.
He further emphasized that his father is not only alive but in good condition, condemning those responsible for spreading unverified information.
“Our father is not just alive but hale and healthy. If you’re wishing someone dead, the person will live very long, or you’ll die before him,” he added.
The latest hoax adds to a pattern of repeated false reports about the Nollywood legend’s death, which have surfaced periodically over the years.
Pete Edochie remains one of Nigeria’s most respected actors, with a decades-long career that has earned him widespread acclaim across Africa’s film industry.
