The brother of late Nollywood actress and producer Allwell Ademola has publicly criticized top Nigerian actors for failing to support his sister during her career.
Ademola, who passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 49, had recently shared a post titled “this year will never see my end,” just a day before her sudden death, leaving colleagues and fans in shock.
Following her passing, several A-list actors, including Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji, shared condolences and paid tribute on social media. However, Allwell’s brother expressed frustration over what he perceives as a lack of genuine support while she was alive.
In a now-viral video, he said, “Stop posting my sister. You don’t even know her age. She’s not 43. How many of you supported her when she was alive? I only saw her in her movies. All you A-list actors who claim to be her friends, Iyabo Ojo, Lateef Adedimeji, and others—remember, my sister worked with all of you, supported you when you were starting, but did you ever promote her films?”
He further criticized actors for failing to acknowledge her contributions in their own projects, stating that many relied on her support during their careers but did not reciprocate.
The remarks have sparked debates on social media about the dynamics of Nollywood support networks and the importance of honoring colleagues during their lifetimes, not just posthumously.
Allwell Ademola’s death continues to elicit an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow actors, with many reflecting on her legacy in the Nigerian film industry.
