Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has criticised some colleagues and fans over how they reacted online following the death of actress and filmmaker Allwell Ademola.
Bakare, in a post shared on her Instagram page, expressed disappointment at what she described as insensitive behaviour on social media, barely hours after Ademola’s passing was announced.
According to the actress, she was saddened to see people creating content, playing games, and receiving gifts on platforms such as TikTok while mourning messages were still circulating.
“The way fans and colleagues are creating content with the passing of our dear sister is really sad. Anyway, God is watching everyone. Rest well, Allwell,” Bakare wrote.
She added that she remained shocked that some individuals believed to be close to the late actress were still active on TikTok, engaging in games and live sessions shortly after the news broke.
“Still in shock, some of her very close pals were even still open on the TikTok app yesterday, doing tap tap busy playing games and collecting gifts. Haaaa!! Aiye le oo!!” she stated.
Bakare’s comments follow the death of Allwell Ademola, who reportedly passed away from a heart attack on December 27, 2025, at the age of 49. Since the announcement, tributes have poured in from across the Nigerian film industry.
Actor Alesh Sanni had earlier raised similar concerns, questioning the sincerity of some online condolences and drawing attention to what he described as contradictions in how support is publicly displayed.
Meanwhile, Ademola’s family has thanked colleagues, friends, and fans for the messages of love and support, adding that details of her burial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
