Lagos cemented its status on the global fashion stage as the 8th edition of the GTCO Fashion Weekend took place from November 8 to 9, 2025.
The two-day event brought together fashionistas, models, and industry professionals from around the world, celebrating the best of African creativity.
This year’s edition featured a dynamic mix of runway shows, retail exhibitions, masterclasses, and a vibrant streetwear hub, offering attendees a comprehensive look at contemporary fashion trends.
Since its launch in 2016, the Guaranty Trust Fashion Weekend, an initiative by Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), has grown from a stylish experiment into a premier platform that highlights African designers while connecting small businesses to global markets.
“For nearly a decade, GTCO Fashion Weekend has celebrated creativity, innovation, and enterprise,” said Segun Agbaje, Group CEO of GTCO. He emphasized that the platform empowers local brands while attracting fashion enthusiasts and industry players from across Africa and beyond.
Agbaje reiterated the event’s founding mission to promote enterprise through fashion. “By bringing together emerging and established voices, we continue to showcase the ingenuity and diversity of African creativity.
Looking ahead, our goal is not just to highlight talent, but to inspire sustainable, people-centered growth that moves Africa’s creative economy forward,” he said.
The 2025 edition reaffirmed GTCO Fashion Weekend as one of Africa’s most anticipated fashion and lifestyle events, spotlighting the continent’s talent while fostering enterprise and global visibility for African designers.
