20 vessels currently discharging; 35 more expected by January 25
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that 20 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Lagos’ Apapa, Lekki, and Tin-Can Island ports.
In its latest shipping position released to newsmen on Saturday, the authority said the vessels are offloading buckwheat, diesel, crude oil, bulk pallets, general cargo, petrol, containers, bulk gas, fresh fish, bulk urea, salt, and aviation fuel.
Looking ahead, the NPA said 35 additional ships laden with petroleum products, food items, and other goods are scheduled to arrive between Saturday and January 25. These incoming vessels are expected to bring general cargo, gypsum, bulk oil, bulk urea, gasoline, condensers, buckwheat, containers of various goods, bulk salt, and petrol.
The authority also reported that nine ships have arrived at the ports and are awaiting berthing, carrying bulk urea, crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, containers, general cargo, and petrol.
The NPA emphasized that the steady inflow of vessels underscores Lagos’ position as a critical hub for Nigeria’s maritime trade, ensuring continuous supply of essential commodities and petroleum products.
