Nigerian record label executive and talent manager, Abiodun Osikoya, popularly known as Bizzle Osikoya, has alleged that police officers in Lagos stopped and searched tourists from the US, including checking their mobile phones and digital applications.
Osikoya made the claim on Friday via his X account, where he described what he said his American friends experienced after being stopped by police officers in Lagos while visiting Nigeria for tourism.
In his post, Osikoya wrote:
“My American friends told me police stopped them last night in lagos and asked them what they are doing in nigeria , they said tourism, they asked the why are they touring nigeria ? Started looking through their phones and asking questions about their emails and crypto apps. @PoliceNG Haba!”
The allegation has sparked conversations online, with social media users questioning police conduct and raising concerns about the treatment of visitors in the country.
As of the time of this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official response to the claim.
