The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the successful conclusion of the Party’s e-Registration exercise, describing it as a landmark achievement in promoting internal democracy, party cohesion, and grassroots participation as Nigeria approaches the next general elections.
Mogaji (Hon) Seye Oladejo, Lagos APC Spokesman, stated that the overwhelming turnout and smooth adoption of the digital registration platform reflect growing confidence among Lagosians—and Nigerians at large—in the APC and its progressive vision.
He added that the exercise not only expanded the Party’s membership base but also produced a transparent, credible, and verifiable database that accurately captures the strength of the APC across wards, local governments, and constituencies.
Oladejo emphasized that the exercise enhanced internal democracy by providing a level playing field for both longstanding and new members to formally register, thereby qualifying them to vote and be voted for in line with the Party’s constitution. This inclusive approach reinforces fairness, participation, and trust among members.
The Party’s requirement for a valid Voters’ Card and National Identification Number (NIN) as prerequisites for registration was particularly significant. This measure safeguarded the integrity of the process, eliminating the registration of ghost members and ensuring the credibility and authenticity of the APC membership register.
With over ten million members registered nationwide, the implications for the Party are profound. This unprecedented figure demonstrates the APC’s deep-rooted structures, wide-reaching organizational strength, and strong connection with grassroots communities across the country.
Such a verifiable membership base positions the Party for a significant head start in the lead-up to the next elections—an advantage that underscores the APC’s capacity for mass mobilization and strategic readiness, while posing a serious challenge to opposition parties.
The Lagos APC commended Party leaders, officials, and volunteers at all levels for their dedication, discipline, and commitment throughout the exercise. Appreciation was also extended to party members and new registrants whose enthusiasm and cooperation contributed to a stronger, more united APC.
As preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle, the Lagos APC remains confident that the successful e-Registration exercise has laid a solid foundation for victory.
The Party reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to unity, internal democracy, good governance, and the delivery of democratic dividends, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
