Kwara United technical adviser Suleiman Ashifat has praised Nasarawa United, stating that the Solid Miners fully deserve their place atop the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.
The Harmony Boys played out a 1-1 draw with the league leaders at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday. Nasarawa United took an early lead through Anas Yusuf, before Johnmark Aule equalised for Kwara United in the 36th minute.
Reflecting on the match, Ashifat described the outcome as fair for both sides.
“It’s really a good game. Nasarawa United’s brand of football deserves their top spot,” Ashifat told Sportlighthub.
“It was a tough game, though we’d hoped to replicate our last season’s win, but a point’s a fair result.”
With the draw, Kwara United climbed to eighth position on the NPFL table, amassing 17 points from 12 games.
