The Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) has reiterated its determination to secure the safe release of residents kidnapped from Kurmin Wali in Kajuru Local Government Area. Authorities assured the affected communities that military operations remain active and coordinated despite public concerns.
In a statement released Friday in Abuja, Director of Media Operations Michael Onoja acknowledged the fear and worry among families of the abducted individuals but emphasized that rescuing them safely remains the military’s highest priority.
He dismissed claims that the security response has slowed, noting that troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, are conducting continuous, intelligence-led operations in Kurmin Wali and nearby forest areas believed to harbor the kidnappers.
Onoja explained that the ongoing operations involve a combination of ground patrols, surveillance missions, and meticulous intelligence gathering, alongside carefully planned actions intended to minimize risks to the hostages. He added that what may appear as caution in some situations is a deliberate tactical approach to protect lives, balancing urgency with prudence to achieve successful results.
The spokesman further highlighted that substantial efforts are being made to dismantle the criminal networks behind the abductions, reaffirming the Armed Forces’ constitutional duty to safeguard citizens and property.
