Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has penned a touching tribute to the late filmmaker Kayode Peters on what would have been his 50th birthday.
Peters, a respected Nigerian film and stage director, died in Toronto, Canada, after a prolonged illness and was laid to rest on August 2, 2025.
Marking the milestone on Instagram, Remi shared a photo of the late director alongside an emotional message.
“Happy heavenly 50th birthday, King KP. I will always be thankful for the moments we shared. Our love and prayers remain with your family. We’re here for Alexis and the kids,” he wrote, referring to Peters’ wife and children.
The actor also reflected on his own life, hinting at the challenges of fatherhood, recent film projects, and even the recurring floods in Lekki, saying he looked forward to sharing more with Peters “when we meet again.”
The tribute drew warm reactions from fans and industry colleagues, including FilmOne co-founder Moses Babatope, who praised Remi for keeping Peters’ legacy alive.
Kayode Peters, who passed away at 49, left a significant mark on Nigeria’s creative industry, with a career that spanned both stage and screen. His works continue to influence a generation of filmmakers and actors.
