Kun Khalifat FC forward, Ezeonye Henry, has expressed confidence that his team will bounce back from their recent home defeat to Rivers United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The Owerri-based side fell 1–0 to Rivers United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Monday, extending their winless run to three matches.
Speaking after the encounter, Henry admitted that the result was disappointing but assured fans that the team is determined to respond positively in their next fixture.
“The defeat to Rivers United wasn’t the result we expected. We pushed hard in the first half but lost concentration in the second and conceded the goal,” Henry said.
“We are giving the coaches the assurance that we will come out victorious in our next game.”
Kun Khalifat FC, led by head coach Obinna Uzoho, currently sit 17th on the NPFL table with 12 points. They will host Nasarawa United, who are enjoying strong form, this weekend in Owerri.
