The Chairman of Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State Emmanuel Onuche has been suspended over alleged gross misconduct and painting the image of the State in bad light.
The Kogi State House of Assembly announced the suspension of the council boss during the house plenary on Wednesday.
He was directed to hand over to his Vice Victoria Okolo.
The house resolved that the investigation of the allegation of gross misconduct of the embattled suspended chairman cannot be done effectively if he remains in office.
During the plenary, the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf set up a five man committee headed by Bode Ogumola.
They are expected to submit their report within one Month.
Meanwhile, three lawmakers in the Kogi State House of Assembly have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).
The three lawmakers that defected are Bode Ogunmola, (PDP Ogori), Idowu Ibikunle, (ADC Yagba East) and Sunday Daku, (PDP Bassa) State Constituency.
