Media personality KieKie has opened up about how she manages to maintain privacy while building a strong presence online.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint event hosted by actress and producer Funke Akindele, KieKie explained that she has deliberately drawn a clear boundary between her personal life and her public brand.
According to her, this distinction allows her to share content strategically without exposing every aspect of her private life. She noted that her online persona is carefully aligned with her professional roles, including hosting, acting, and content creation.
KieKie, whose real name is Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori, said her content is largely centred on comedy and entertainment, reflecting the core elements of her brand. She emphasised that only material relevant to these areas makes it to her platforms.
Addressing questions about her husband’s absence from her social media pages, the media personality said the decision is intentional. She remarked that her husband does not fit into the type of content she creates, which is primarily comedic.
However, she occasionally features her daughter, Nola, noting that the child shows a natural interest in being on camera. Even at that, KieKie said her daughter’s appearances are limited to school holidays to ensure a balance between content creation and education.
Beyond her personal choices, KieKie also advised fellow creators to avoid overextending viral moments. She warned that excessive repetition of trending content can lead to audience fatigue and dilute originality.
Instead, she encouraged content creators to see viral success as motivation to innovate and produce fresh ideas, rather than relying on a single moment to sustain relevance.
Her remarks highlight the growing conversation around digital boundaries, originality, and intentional branding in Nigeria’s content creation space.
