A prison warder attached to Kiboga government prison is on the run after allegedly shooting dead three of his supervisors in a mid-morning Monday incident.
The suspect, identified as Moses Anguyo, reportedly opened fire at around 10 am, killing Assistant superintendent of prisons Hope Catherine, who was the deputy officer in charge; principal officer Bright Akishuri, described as third in command; and Sarah Ayebare, the spouse of the officer in charge.
Preliminary reports indicate that Anguyo fled the scene immediately after the shooting, abandoning the firearm believed to have been used in the attack. The circumstances that led to the fatal shooting remain unclear.
Prisons spokesperson Frank Baine confirmed the incident and said a manhunt had been launched to apprehend the suspect. Authorities have yet to disclose a possible motive.
