Arsenal legend Martin Keown has told William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães they “can’t make mistakes” as the Gunners prepare to face West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.
Arsenal host the Hammers at the Emirates following their 2-1 win over Newcastle in their last league outing.
Saliba and Gabriel have formed a solid defensive partnership in recent seasons, but Keown believes competition from new signing Mosquera will push the pair to higher levels.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Keown said: “Mosquera, the new acquisition, is really top drawer. He has the same DNA as Saliba and Gabriel. Kiwior perhaps did not – he was not as quick or as strong.
“It is a high level now and Mosquera will push Saliba and Gabriel to play even better. They can’t make mistakes.”
Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League table, behind leaders Liverpool.
