A group of demonstrators marched through central Nairobi on Tuesday (October 7), expressing solidarity with Israel and calling for peace in Jerusalem as they marked two years since an attack by Hamas on Israel, the onset of the 22 month old Israeli – Palestinian conflict.
Participants carried banners with messages such as “Israel Belongs to God” and “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,” while waving Kenyan, Israeli, and US flags.

Organisers said the protest aimed to promote peace and show support for Israel.
Hamas gunmen killed 1,200 people and took 251 hostage in the attack on October 7, 2023. Israel responded by launching an offensive against the Palestinian militant group in Gaza that has killed more than 67,000 people, Gaza health officials say.
