
Katsina United forward Sadiq Abubakar Usman, popularly known as Daddy Matic, has departed Nigeria to undergo trials with Egyptian giants Zamalek.
The club’s media officer, Nasir Gide, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that the move is being sponsored by the club’s chairman, Alhaji Kabir Dan’lami Rimi.
The statement further revealed that should Abubakar fail to secure a deal with Zamalek, he will also be given the chance to trial with two other Egyptian clubs.
Sadiq, one of Katsina United’s homegrown talents, has been a key figure for the Chanji Boys, and the club expressed optimism that the opportunity will help advance his career.
