Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has spoken out against the growing trend of attending events without invitations, describing the behaviour as disrespectful to hosts.
In a video shared on Instagram, Henshaw addressed both individuals who show up uninvited and those who extend their personal invitations to others without permission.
She questioned the intent behind such actions, noting that event organisers invest significant time and resources into planning their gatherings and expect guests to respect set boundaries.
The actress emphasised that showing up without an invitation undermines the efforts of hosts and reflects poorly on those involved.
Henshaw also criticised invitees who bring along additional guests despite receiving invitations meant for a single person, calling for greater awareness and consideration in social settings.
Urging a shift in behaviour, she advised individuals to value themselves enough to avoid spaces where they are not formally invited, reiterating that gatecrashing remains inappropriate and inconsiderate.
