Residents of Kano State can now report community issues and monitor government responses through the newly launched Fix Kano App, a digital platform designed to enhance citizen engagement and improve public service delivery.
The launch took place during the inaugural Kano Startup Weekend 2025, organized by the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA), with participation from stakeholders across government, academia, the private sector, and the state’s technology ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said the Fix Kano App is part of his administration’s effort to leverage technology for participatory governance, transparency, and more efficient public service delivery.
“The platform provides a direct and structured channel for citizens to communicate their concerns to government and receive timely feedback”, he explained.
Director-General of KASITDA, Bashir Muzakkari, added that the app covers key sectors including infrastructure, security, health, agriculture, environment, sanitation, and education. He highlighted its monitoring and feedback features, which allow users to track the progress of their reports from submission to resolution.
Muzakkari encouraged residents to make the Fix Kano App their primary means of engaging with government, rather than relying on social media platforms, where issues often trend temporarily without structured follow-up or official action.
Also present, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, commended Kano State for deploying a digital solution that promotes accountability, transparency, and data-driven governance. He said the initiative aligns with national digital transformation goals and serves as a model for other states.
The Kano State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting digital innovation, leveraging homegrown technological solutions to address societal challenges, improve governance outcomes, and build trust between citizens and government.
