

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is denying reports that suggest he accused the late President Muhammadu Buhari of having connections with Boko Haram.
Jonathan insists that his remarks at a recent book launch in Abuja were “grossly misrepresented” by the media.
It comes as former Buhari spokesman Garba Shehu dismissed the original claim as “false and politically motivated,” pointing out that Buhari himself was a target of Boko Haram.
In the same vein, President Tinubu’s spokesman Bayo Onanuga slammed US Senator Ted Cruz over his allegations in a post on X that Nigerian officials are facilitating the killing of Christians by Islamist jihadists. Onanuga described the claims as “malicious-contrived lies” against Nigeria.
Online, some have stated that while Cruz exaggerated, Nigeria faces multiple crises rooted in selective justice and poor governance among others.
In a speech in Gombe state, Nigeria’s First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, declared that the era of branding Nigeria as the most corrupt country in the world has ended.
The First Lady’s comments come as an old interview featuring former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, discussing corruption during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration has resurfaced online.
In the interview, Ezekwesili is pressed on claims made by former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, who alleged that Obasanjo’s regime was more corrupt than General Sani Abacha’s.
