Chelsea legend John Terry has admitted that the Blues lack the experience needed to win the Premier League title this season.
Chelsea have made a positive start to the campaign, winning two and drawing one of their opening three league matches. The club also lifted the UEFA Conference League and qualified for the Champions League last season.
However, Terry believes competing with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal will be a step too far for Mauricio Pochettino’s young squad.
Speaking to newsmen, the former Chelsea captain said:
“I’m not sure Chelsea have enough experience within their squad to push Liverpool and also I don’t want to put pressure on the Chelsea squad as well, so I think it’s Liverpool’s to lose.
We are a young squad. Do I think we will? No I don’t, being honest with you but I think we’ll be right amongst it.”
Chelsea will take on Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday as they aim to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
