Former England and Chelsea captain John Terry has tipped either Chelsea or Arsenal to emerge as Premier League champions this season, dismissing Liverpool’s chances in the title race.
Arsenal currently sit six points ahead of Chelsea after their emphatic 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the North London derby. Both sides are now preparing for a crucial showdown at Stamford Bridge this weekend, a clash Terry believes could have major implications for the title picture.
The highly anticipated fixture presents two possible outcomes: Arsenal could extend their advantage to nine points with a win, while Chelsea can reduce the gap to just three if they secure a home victory.
Speaking in a TikTok video, Terry stressed the magnitude of the upcoming encounter and shared his belief that the Premier League crown will be contested between the two London rivals.
“A big game at the weekend now as Arsenal come to the Bridge where it’s going to be a very big game,” Terry said.
“I’m not saying it’s going to be a title decider but I think it’s going to be one of the two teams [who win the league].
For me, Liverpool are 100 per cent out of the title race. Liverpool look like they’re really struggling at the moment.”
Terry’s comments add further intrigue to a season already brimming with intensity, as both Arsenal and Chelsea look to assert dominance in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive Premier League campaign.
