Chelsea legend, John Terry, has showered praise on teenage Brazilian forward, Estevao Willian, after his late heroics in the Blues’ 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
Moises Caicedo opened the scoring for Chelsea in the first half before Cody Gakpo equalised for Liverpool. With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Estevao struck a 95th-minute winner at Stamford Bridge to seal all three points for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Spanish defender Marc Cucurella, who kept Mohamed Salah quiet throughout the contest, delivered the decisive cross for Estevao’s match-winning goal.
Terry, the former Chelsea captain, expressed his admiration for the teenager’s performance on Instagram. “Love him (Estevao) already,” he wrote alongside a photo of the Brazilian. He also commended Cucurella, adding: “Also, what a ball from Marc Cucurella.”
Estevao joined Chelsea this summer from Palmeiras in a deal worth an initial £29 million.
