Nigerian Afrobeats singer Joeboy has voiced support for South African artist Tyla following her victory at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Tyla secured the Best African Music Performance award with her song Push 2 Start, beating a lineup of major Nigerian artists including Davido, Omah Lay, Wizkid, Ayra Starr and Burna Boy.
Speaking during a recent interview on the show Jay On Air, Joeboy admitted he had initially hoped Davido would clinch the award. However, he acknowledged that Tyla’s win was well deserved.
According to the singer, Tyla’s talent and dedication to her craft played a major role in her success.
Joeboy noted that while some fans may be unhappy with the outcome, the South African star’s effort and performance cannot be overlooked.
