Questions are swirling around a lending company linked to a prominent city businessman popularly known as ‘Jimal Roho Safi’ and now accused of defrauding more than 2,500 Nairobi residents of over Sh24 million.
The company at the centre of the storm had promised electric motorbikes to hundreds of youth after collecting deposits of Sh9,500 each. However, two months later, those promises had turned into anger and chaos as frustrated customers confronted the businessman on Thursday, demanding their money back or the motorbikes for which they had paid deposits.
