Jane Frances has been officially nominated to contest for the Oyam District Woman member of parliament seat on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket in the upcoming elections.
The NRM hopes to reclaim the seat from the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC), which has held it for the past 15 years. Moments after her nomination, Frances expressed gratitude to her supporters and reaffirmed her commitment to servant leadership.
“This nomination isn’t just about me; it’s about Oyam’s future,” she said. “I’m here to give a voice to the people, to build on our district’s potential, and to provide leadership that genuinely listens, serves, and takes action.”
Frances pledged to prioritise key issues affecting Oyam residents, including education, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and access to quality healthcare.
Community leaders welcomed her nomination, describing it as “timely” and “inspiring,” citing her active involvement in local development initiatives and her hands-on approach to community service.
