Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hailed Arsenal as the “best team” in the Premier League this season, following Manchester City’s 3-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side moved into second place after defeating the Reds, now sitting four points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Despite City’s commanding performance, Carragher expressed no doubt about Mikel Arteta’s squad being England’s top team this season. He also acknowledged that Manchester City remain a stern challenge, having beaten Arsenal twice in recent seasons.
“Twice in the last three years, they’ve come from behind and caught Arsenal.
“Liverpool are the champions but City took them to the cleaners.
“They [Arsenal] might be getting a few flashbacks to the last couple of times they had a chance at a title.
“I still think Arsenal are the best team I’ve seen in the Premier League this season, no doubt,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
Arsenal sit four points clear of Manchester City ahead of the international break and will return aiming to continue their winning form in their next league fixture.
