
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), in collaboration with representatives of universities chosen by under-age candidates who participated in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has announced an adjustment to the final date for their scheduled assessment. This development follows concerns arising from delays in the submission of Post-UTME screening scores by several universities.
The National Examinations Council (NECO) released the 2025 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) results on Wednesday, 17th September 2025. However, JAMB observed that as of the close of submission on 15th September 2025, 23 out of 71 universities selected by candidates had yet to submit their screening scores as agreed.

JAMB, has urged the defaulting universities to submit their screening scores without further delay in order not to jeopardize the academic progression of the affected candidates.
Public universities are expected to submit their recommended candidates on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before Tuesday, 30th September 2025.
Private universities are to make their submissions on or before Friday, 31st October 2025.
To ensure smooth admissions processing, the final deadlines are set to be 30th October 2025 for public universities and 31st November 2025 for private universities
These deadlines are sacrosanct and were endorsed at the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions chaired by Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, the Minister of Education. JAMB remains committed to ensuring transparency, orderliness, and timely processing of admissions into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
