Nigerian international Alex Iwobi has praised the talents of Felix Agu and Benjamin Fredrick as the Super Eagles gear up for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
Iwobi, who plies his trade with Fulham in the Premier League, shared his admiration for the pair after observing them closely during a training session under head coach Eric Chelle.
“We had a light training session, and I got to see their [Fredrick and Agu] qualities, but the manager [Eric Chelle] knows, but there is a reason why they are here to represent Nigeria,” Iwobi told Football Fans Tribe.
He further stressed his role in helping the new additions settle into the squad:
“My job is to make Fredrick and Agu feel welcome and at home. Give them the confidence to come and showcase their talent [for the Super Eagles].”
All three players are expected to be in contention for minutes when Nigeria faces Rwanda on Saturday before taking on South Africa next Tuesday in what could prove pivotal fixtures in their World Cup qualification campaign.
