Renowned Italian journalist Fabio Caressa has strongly criticized Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman over his behavior during the club’s 1–0 UEFA Champions League victory against Olympique Marseille.
Lookman appeared visibly angry after being substituted in the second half by manager Ivan Juric, who brought on Yunus Musah in his place. The Nigerian international was seen exchanging heated words with Juric on the touchline before teammates and technical staff stepped in to calm the situation.
Speaking on the incident, Caressa condemned Lookman’s reaction, describing it as unprofessional and counterproductive to both the player and the club.
“I want to say a word about Lookman: after the summer we had, after you returned, always appearing so angry and aggressive doesn’t do anyone any good, not even him,” Caressa said, as quoted by Chiamarsibomber.
“In my opinion, it’s not the right attitude towards the club that pays you; he continues to have an unprofessional attitude.”
Lookman, who has been one of Atalanta’s standout players in recent seasons, has drawn praise for his on-field performances but is now under scrutiny for his disciplinary conduct.
The incident comes at a time when Atalanta are pushing to maintain momentum in both Serie A and the Champions League, and observers believe the Nigerian forward will need to manage his emotions better to stay in Juric’s plans.
