The Nasser Medical Centre in Gaza has confirmed that Israel returned the bodies of 45 Palestinians on Tuesday, marking the latest exchange under a recently brokered ceasefire arrangement.
According to hospital officials, the remains had been held by Israeli authorities and were handed over at a border crossing before being transferred to the facility for identification and burial arrangements.
The handover comes as part of a ceasefire agreement reportedly brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, under which Israel is to release 15 Palestinian bodies for every deceased Israeli repatriated.
A day earlier, Hamas had transferred the bodies of three Israelis and one Nepalese national to Israeli authorities as part of the same arrangement.
The exchange represents one of the most significant humanitarian gestures since the truce took effect, aimed at easing tensions and facilitating the broader implementation of the ceasefire terms.
