The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ekiti State, southwest Nigeria, has distanced itself from a recent protest and press conference held by its outgoing Chairman, Owoola Daramola, over the exclusion of the PDP candidate, Dr Wole Oluyede, from the INEC provisional list.
In a statement signed by Prince Ademola Adebayo, IPAC Publicity Secretary in Ekiti State, the council described Daramola’s actions as self-serving and misleading, noting that four political parties, including the PDP, were excluded from the list.
Adebayo questioned Daramola’s credibility, citing alleged misconduct and abuse of office, which he claimed had eroded the confidence of other political parties in him.
The statement also pointed out that IPAC had not held a meeting in recent times, specifically mentioning that the last meeting was in August 2025, raising questions about Daramola’s authority to speak on behalf of the council. Below are the signatories:
IPAC Ekiti State Chapter urged aggrieved parties to seek redress through the appropriate channels, while dissociating itself from Daramola’s utterances, including his claim that the 2026 election would not hold in Ekiti State due to bad faith.
