The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has alerted the public to an upcoming period of temporary disruptions on its Passport Digital Platform as the agency embarks on routine system maintenance aimed at improving efficiency and user experience.
In a statement issued on Friday, NIS spokesperson Akinsola Akinlabi said the maintenance exercise is scheduled to run from 12:00 a.m. on 12 December to 6:00 a.m. on 14 December 2025 (GMT).
“The Nigeria Immigration Service wishes to inform the general public that it is carrying out routine maintenance on its Passport Digital Platform to enhance system performance and overall user experience,” the statement read.
During the maintenance window, users may experience intermittent service interruptions, slower response times, or restricted access to some passport-related services.
The NIS assured applicants that normal operations will resume immediately after the upgrade and expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and patience.
